E-DIARY

August 25

Our first day is our orientation and it is very brief yet also very informative. The clinical instructor, Sir Archi, informed us of the whats and hows of this course I encountered less technical difficulties today. Although some difficulties came from the audio so some words being said by our clinical instructors came quite inaudible. Nevertheless, I am hopeful for the future and somehow I can see a more positive outlook on this whole new mode of learning. I am looking forward to our future meetings.

It was the second day of our duty and sir Archie evaluated how we understood making medication cards on our previous year. Although it wasn’t taught to me before, I communicated with my classmates on how to make them and was able to succeed with the task.

September 8

It was the second week of our duty. IVF computation was discussed and we were given individual IV received and orders, we were tasked to compute them and I succeeded with mine. I believe this was very useful for me since I fully understood how to compute IVF now.

September 9

It was the fourth day of our duty and sir Archi gave us activities on Schoology like the video of taking vital signs and nurse-patient interaction, medication card, vital signs plotting, and he discussed physicians' orders. Even though we were taught how to make vital signs before, it is easily understood when sir Archi is the one who teaches us.

It was the fifth day of our online class on duty and we did an activity about physician's order, nurses remarks and vital signs of the individual patient given to us. So far I haven’t encountered any bad connection in our internet and I am slowly adapting to this method of learning.

September 16

Sir Archie told us that we would make a case study although he will leave us on our own devices and only teach us how to properly do it when we are done so that we can improve our critical thinking skills, a skill that is most relevant in nursing.

September 22

We passed the nurse's remarks and physician orders that we made and sir Archie briefed us one by one about our mistakes and how we can improve.

September 29

We presented our case study that we worked on throughout the previous week. Sir Archi praised us for being able to make a good case study in such a short time and without instructions. He then proceeded to tell us what is missing and what we should change to make it proper and complete.

 September 30

This was the last day of our duty. We all thanked sir Archi for all the lessons he gave us, although some activites were tough, he was always there to make sure we are not overburdened by them. Thank you Sir! <3
